She tends to obsess about things, fixating on people and circumstances that normal people would just overlook. Kind and compassionate, she can easily be seen as the mother type. She spends time to help the needy and the despondent, feeling that it is her responsibility to care for those who where born in worse circumstances than herself. She has a code of honor that she would never break, and expects others to be the same way. She is loyal to a fault, but that's hard to see when her biggest loyalty conflicts with the others in her life.
Personality:
Morgana is a strong woman, in a time when woman where expected to be weak and helpless. She spent her child hood under the thumb of a man who killed her father, only to be passed onto another man who she viewed to be just like Uther. She wants to be on her own, dependent to no man, but at the same time a part of her years for the security a man can bring. This indecisiveness in her, causes her to lash out and stay away from her husband. In her mind he can cause her downfall, but because she hasn't spent much time in his company she doesn't really know for sure.
She's a diligent worker, constantly trying to keep the old ways alive in the hearts of the people, but man's memory is short, and the rule of Christendom threatens her endeavor.
Being a woman, she has learned that sometimes she needs to be underhanded to gain the upper hand. And while she hates the need to do it, she recognizes that she couldn't survive without being sneaky.
Background:
Daughter of Igraine and Gorlois, Duke of Cornwall; she was sent to a convent near the isle of Avalon right after Uther Pendragon killed her father and married her mother. It was at the convent where she started her training in the mystical and magical acts, and taken under the tutelage of the sisters of Avalon, who had been lead by Vivianne at the time.
It was there she stayed until she was 15, and betrothed and married to Urien; a man chosen by Uther himself. Unsatisfied with this union, she continued her lessons in private, in opposition to her husbands wishes. When the time came for Arthur to become king himself, she traveled to court in order to visit. It was at this time that the sisters of Avalon inducted her into their ranks, and Morgana revealed her true allegiance, even to her husband who was filled with anger at the news.
Despite this, Arthur allowed her to visit whenever she wished, and Morgana spent her time traveling back and forth from Avalon, to Camelot, where her husband stayed. Unhappy with her marriage, Morgana searched outside of her marriage for her physical needs, but when caught by Guinevere was banished from the castle.
Morgana aware of the secret desires in Guineveres heart, and in her opinion deluded view of herself as pure and chaste, quickly came to loath her brothers wife. It was after this that she swore to one day reveal the woman for what she was, an adulterer, the type of woman she had branded Morgana as.
It was at this time that Vivianne stood down from her position as high priestess, and took up the mantle of lady of the lake. Morgana was inducted as the new ruler of Avalon, a title that's more in line with her religion than an actual kingdom.
Despite all this, she still loves her family(with the exception of Guinevere) and works hard to persuade Arthur into once again uniting the old ways with his kingdom, an act he will never grant.
Writing Sample:
Morgana had spent the early hours of the morning on her knees praying. She prayed to the Mother Goddess to bring her council, to bring her patience, but most of all, to rescue her from the clutches of her father and her chosen groom. She prayed so much that her knees where red and prickly from being numb for so long, she prayed so long that she didn't hear the calls from the mother superior until the older woman was at her back.
Turning around, she gave the mother superior a look of apology and stood, instantly wishing that she hadn't when pain shot down her thighs and legs.
"You have guests sister Morgan." The elder had a look of annoyance on her face, and her lips where pressed tight in contemplation. No one liked when men intruded on their domain, the mother superior the most against it. But Uther was paying for her to be there, and so he couldn't be denied entrance.
"Yes mother superior." Moving past, she made her way out of the chapel, and towards the mother's main office. Pastor Eldridge was already there, wringing his hands and looking like a lamb to slaughter next to her intimidating step father. But her eyes where immediately drawn to the other man, the big man to her fathers right. He was rugged, and had muscles that where larger than her thighs. His face spoke of unforgiving discipline, and Morgana instantly knew she would not like the man. Taking her place in front of her father, she cast her gaze down to the cobbled floor, and sent another small prayer for a way out of this.
"Morgana you know why I am here. This is Urien, one of my most trusted knights. He will be your husband and keeper from now on. I have told him of your...predisposition to sorcery and the such, and while my household supported you in that venture, Urien will not. Do you understand? He will be your Master, and you will learn to listen and obey; do I make myself clear?"
It took Morgana a moment to nod her head. It took her even longer to answer.
"Y...yes Uther."

It was only a few days later when a party of men on horseback rode up to the convent. And from then, only a few hours more until she was standing in front of the Priest, saying her wedding vows. In that moment she was more scared than she ever thought she would ever be. She was only 15, and had lived most of her life behind these gray, solemn walls; how could she be expected to marry and...bed a man she had only met for a couple of minutes? Sure it was expected of her, and many of her friends had already left to start their own homes; but she had never really imagined that it would ever happen to her.
Her new husband didn't say very much after the ceremony, and that night he took her. It was rough, and sweaty, and painful, and in no way did she ever want to do that again. But what made her the most panicky was after the bedding, when his great big muscled arms wrapped around her slim form and pulled her close. She inhaled sharply and took in the rich scent of his manliness, and for the first time realized that she needed to be strong, she needed to be strong in order to not be taken in, engulfed, and kept by a man just because some ceremony said that she needed to be.
